An exhibition that takes on human hands as an artistic muse, producing works of varying scales and mediums. This exhibition features the work of Martina Jirankova-Limbrick, an Illustrator from the Czech Republic and Antonia Spowers, a Sculptor from Wales.
2. The Hay Festival of Literature & Arts
Hay-on-Wye (until Sun 4 June, Free/Ticketed)
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Hay Festival is a yearly literature and arts festival that takes place in a small tented village in Hay-on-Wye. Ticketed events range from £5 to £40. The featured activities range from Sunrise Iyengar Yoga Sessions (1 Jun 8.30am, £7.30) to a media masterclass with BBC talent manager at BBC Studios, Caroline Carter (1 Jun, 10am, Free) With such a range of events, even a singular day visit is justified.
3. Cardiff School of Art and Design Summer Show 2017

An exhibition featuring the talents across CSAD’s undergraduate courses of: Artist Designer Maker, Ceramics, Fine Art, Graphic Communication, Illustration International Design, Product Design, Photographic Practice (Bridgend College) and Textiles. A sneak-peak into the artists emerging from CSAD.
4. Live On Mars

Swansea’s Grand Theatre pays tribute to the life of David Bowie, in a production based on the iconic sound and visual culture of Bowie’s concert performances.

The boisterous Ceri Dupree takes on his home town with his “One Man, 21 Woman” show. An evening of vocal impersonations and cross-dressing, suited to admirers and pundits of Ceri alike.

- Penarth Rooftop Cinema- Stand By Me

A peaceful rooftop preview of 1986 cult classic, Stand By Me. Complete with a rooftop cocktail bar serving a selection of themed cocktails, craft beers, wine, and prosecco. As well as food stalls from pop up burger bar, Bish Bash Brioche, and Macho Nacho’s loaded nachos.

What is it like to become a refugee? This production is a piece of ‘Immersive theatre’ that places the audience in the shoes of a refugee, to allow them to understand the full scope of the refugee crisis by seeing it in first person.

The Japanese noise rock group, Melt-Banana take on Cardiff’s Globe supported by Disjoy and Gindrinker. An experimental rock night well suited for an easy Sunday evening.
Andrew Lamont Gallery, Theatr Brycheiniog Canal Wharf, Brecon (Fri 2 June, 10am-5pm, Tickets: Free)
An exhibition that pays homage to the last coal miners of South Wales through mixed media coal portraits. Hilary Powell’s portraits were produced through the Josef Herman Foundation Cymru Print Residency at Curwen Studio, and highlight the landscape and culture they miners worked in.
