Bird – 13th May
The Sherman Theatre will play host to Bird, Katherine Chandler’s poetic play about two young girls on the cusp of adulthood. The play, which won a Judge’s Award in the 2013 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting, will be directed by Rachel O’Riordan and stars Skins actresses, Georgia Henshaw and Siwan Morris. Tickets are priced at £14 and under 25s pay half price
Jonny and the Baptists: The End is Nigh – 9th May

The End is Nigh is a musical comedy about family, friendship and environmental disaster, their most personal – and apocalyptic – adventure to date. Tickets vary from £8 – £10.
Dirty Pop’s Eurovision Party 2016 – 14th May
Eurovision heroes! It’s time to rise like a phoenix and work yourself into a state of Euphoria! Clwb Ifor Bach will be hosting a Eurovision party after last year’s success. Featuring a big screen, sound system and sofas to watch the show, the night will include a free glass of Buck’s Fizz when you arrive, sweepstakes at the bar, scoresheets and free entry into Dirty Pop afterwards. Admissions: Free.
Megaverse – 14th May
In celebration of Dylan Day, the international Dylan Thomas day, Cardiff Central Library will be hosting an eclectic bill of local (and not so local) poets, performing work inspired by their own relationship with Dylan Thomas. Featuring former Bardd Plant Cymru, Aneirin Karadog, who will read this year’s bilingual Dylan’s Great Poem, and perform excerpts from hip hop production Dylan Live in Welsh and English. Admissions: Free.
BBC National Orchestra of Wales: The Best of BBC Ten Pieces – 15th May
Journey through the music featured over the past two years in BBC Ten Pieces, a project aimed at inspiring a generation of children to get creative with classical music. Edwin Outwater conducts a journey through classical music, featuring Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries, Shostokovich’s Symphony No.10 and Stravinsky’s Berceuse & Finale. Tickets vary from £15 for general admission, £5 for students and from £15 for family tickets.
The fin – 12th May
Gwdihw will be helping to kick off the UK tour of the fin, ahead of their appearance at Brighton’s The Great Escape, and the release of their new EP, Through The Deep. Self describing their style as languorous, swaying, dream-pop, the Japanese band will be making a rare appearance this Thursday at 8pm, so don’t miss this rare chance to see them on our shores! Admissions: £3.
The Romans Return – 14th-15th May
Step back in time over 2000 years to the time of the Romans this weekend, when they come back to take over Cardiff Castle . In full authentic costume, the soldiers will practice stage drills, displays and be on the lookout for recruits to join the kids’ army and enter the gladiator arena. Tickets are £6 for adults, £5 for seniors and £4 for children.
The Leak with Tom Price – 12th May
Series four of the radio comedy chat show returns to Cardiff for another series of great guests, music and news. Tom Price invites some of the UK’s top comedians, actors and musicians to take a look at the week that’s just gone by. There’ll be live music, jokes, and silliness, the best possible way to celebrate the end of another week. Admission: Free
10 Years of Low Down Deep – 13th May
Label mogul, party promoter and razor-sharp selector Logan D’s record label, Low Down Deep, is a decade old this year, so to celebrate, Clwb Ifor Bach have asked him to join MC Bassman, probably the most quoted MC in drum & bass. Let’s just say, you’re in for one hell of a night. Admission: £13.
Game of Thrones Quiz – 9th May
Following the success of the Star Wars, Walking Dead and Orange is the New Black quizzes, Buffalo Bar will be celebrating the return of Game of Thrones by hosting The Game of Thrones Quiz. Back with their innovative style of quiz mastery, In a Minute Now ensure the night will be packed with unique question rounds, themed cocktails and interactive stand-offs. It’s surely a night not to be missed. Admissions: £1 per team member (6 people per team max).
