Hedd Wyn – Mon 31 July
The Western Front Association is screening the 1994 S4C film Hedd Wyn in the St Michael’s Centre in Abergavenny. The only Welsh language film to be nominated for an Oscar, it showcases the ambition of a Welsh soldier in the First World War to win a bardic chair. Followed by a Q&A with actor Terry Victor.

Head to Barry Island for a breathtaking aerial display by The Red Arrows as part of the seaside town’s Transport Festival. This will be the RAF team’s third visit to Barry, after cancelling their performance last year due to bad weather conditions.
