If you’re looking for a real Halloween spook this year head to Llancaiach Fawr Manor (Caerphilly, Fri 30 Oct+Sat 31 Oct, Tickets: £15-£30) for a special Halloween Ghost Tour that will investigate the famous paranormal activity of one of the Top Ten most haunted buildings in Britain.
Alternatively the National Museum Cardiff is opening its doors for the first ever paranormal investigation of the site (Cardiff Museum Ghost Hunt, Sat 31 Oct, Tickets: £49). The ghost hunt will take place throughout the night and will give visitors the opportunity to use special ghost-hunting equipment in their search for the museum’s inhabitants.

This week’s Comedy Carousel (Glee Club, Cardiff, Thurs 29 Oct, Tickets: £5-£18) brings together a range of comedians from the top of the circuit for a night of belly-laughing entertainment involving audience interaction and visual projections.
To celebrate the ten year anniversary of the Wales Millennium Centre, some of Wales’ top talented young performers are taking to the stage to perform Les Misérables: Fersiwn Ysgolion (Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff, Thurs 29-Sun 31 Oct, Tickets: £18.50-£23.50). This Welsh language School Edition of the world-famous musical is set to put an exclusive spin on the original which will be presented in a completely new and unique way.
If you’re looking for an alternative Halloween party this year make sure to check out Late Night Music in the Museum (National Museum Cardiff, Sat 30 Oct, Tickets: £5-£7) presented by Spillers Records which promises a night of live music and private gallery viewings with sets from Mike Dennis, Alex Dingley and Round Heels.
Land of Our Fathers wraps up the first leg of its tour at the Wales Millennium Centre this week (Cardiff, Until Wed 28 Oct, Tickets: £15). Capturing a momentous part of 20th century British history, this comedic play tells the story of six trapped Welsh miners whose lives are soon to be turned upside down after a significant shift in British politics above ground.
This week Chapter hosts an accessible and highly expressive performance exploring the motions of the physical body through the art of dance: Stories from a Crowded Room (Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff, Tues 27 Oct-Sun 1 Nov, Tickets: £10-£14). Moving amongst the performers you will become a part of the production, surrounded by music, text and film.
For art enthusiasts interested in the development of everyday life within European and American painting and sculpture, this one’s for you. Penarth Pier Pavilion are offering a set of Art History Lectures with Stella Lyons (Penarth Pier Pavillion, Fri 30 Oct, Tickets: £8)that give an insight into the evolution of the everyday between the 15th and 21st centuries whilst discussing work from artists such as Jan Steen, Edward Hopper and Tracy Emin.
