The Wales Theatre Awards – celebrating excellence in theatre, opera and dance – launched their 2017 Awards season at Chapter Arts Centre last Friday evening.
The awards are also an acknowledgement to the role of reviewers in the both the creative process and audience development, with the Wales Theatre Awards being in partnership with the Wales Critics Fund – a fund which helps freelance and young critics, and supports the next generation of theatre critics.
Previous winners include Grav, the story of the late rugby icon Ray Gravelle; WNO; and Daniel Llewelyn-Williams who’s currently enjoying success touring his one-man-show A Regular Little Houdini.
This year sees the Wales Theatre Awards leaving Cardiff, with the awards representing wider Wales. This year the ceremony is taking place in Swansea’s Taliesin Arts Centre.
The Wales Theatre Awards 2017 take place on Saturday, February 25th.
