Aloft The Bull Beaumaris is a restaurant with dramatic colour schemes set against pale oak beams. The contrasting hues don’t stop at the decor – the food is equally in-keeping. Starters of tian of blue swimmer crab with gazpacho, red pepper tuile and avocado set the tone, ahead of intricate mains like breast of duck with purple figs and parsnip puree.

Beside Thomas Telford’s eternally-impressive bridge is an eatery with the look and feel of a family owned 50s seafood diner, with authentic retro photos and nautical objects lining the walls. Seafood is the name of the game but there are cheaper American alternative to satisfy the kiddies (burgers et al.) Why not push the boat out and opt for a £60 sharing platter?
