The Brunswick, Swansea features a collection of original artworks; from life drawings and paintings, to textiles in Paper, Canvas and Felt (Until Sat 12 Nov, admission: free). Featuring work from three contemporary artists: Vivian Rhule, Mike Mainwaring, and Matt Pearce, artworks will be available for purchase if anything catches your eye.
Rudry Parish Hall, Caerphilly, hosts the touring production by National Theatre Wales, The Village Social (Thurs 20-Fri 21 Oct, 7.30pm, tickets: £5-£8) this week. Hailed as The Vicar Of Dibley meets The Wicker Man, it sees the talented duo of Dafydd James and Ben Lewis behind the production.
Featuring a diverse cast, A Cold Spread (Tue 18-Sun 30 Oct, 7.30pm, tickets: £10/£8),is set to be a fascinating and engrossing production. The Riverside Conservative Club, Cardiff hosts this comic play set at the wake of an elderly local woman.
The Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff hosts Alan Carr Spexy Beast Tour (Sat 22 Oct, 7pm, tickets: £30). The award-winning funny man is bound to get you laughing. With a handful of comedians taking to the stage in Cardiff this month, Alan is definitely one of the best on offer.
Katy Brien, better known as Katy B, generates a mixture of dubstep, rave, r‘n’b, funky house and UK garage. The British songstress who will be setting out on her second solo UK tour, is also performing at the Great Hall, Cardiff University Students Union, (Fri 21 Oct, 7.30pm, tickets: £14.50).
Cecile Johnson Soliz, (Sat 1-Mon 31 Oct, 12-5pm, admission: free). From Sat 1 Oct, Bay Art gallery, Cardiff is featuring work from the artist Cecile Johnson Soliz, well-known for her use of clay and her ongoing interest in the still life tradition and the relationship between sculpture and painting.
A Clockwork Orange, (Thurs 20-Sat 22 Oct, 7.30pm, tickets: £12/£10). The adaptation of Anthony Burgess’ novella, A Clockwork Orange, is a piece made for uncomfortable viewing, and it’s brought to life by Volcano ar Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea who hosts this unforgettable adaptation.
