SAGE FRANCIS | EVENT PREVIEW + COMPETITION
Miami-born Sage Francis brings his lyrical talents across the pond and into Cardiff for one very special performance. His eclectic mix of styles and eras works to make an individualistic sound that will wow audiences in his debut Welsh show.
The urban rapper, poet and spoken word master has a unique story-telling ability in each of his pieces that give listeners a secret insight into his weird and wonderful mind, and the struggles he has overcome. His 19 years in the business, which have involved the release of six studio albums, has meant he knows how to create a show that gets the audience bopping along to the beats and thinking about important issues such as love, politics, society and equality simultaneously.
Sage started his own independent record label, Strange Famous Records, which rejoices in giving freedom to not only him but other corporate-music-label-avoiding artists. He broke the constraints of the genre and industry when he released Human The Death Dance, and his unique approach of blurring the lines between opposites; darkness and light, anger and serenity, and tragedy and comedy has earnt him a place as a prominent and influential figure that is continuing to change the slam poetry music scene.
