A hen party from hell that borrows heavily from many comedies before it, but with oestrogen. Jess, played by Scarlett Johansson is running for state senator but wants to cut loose with her old frat house friends before her wedding to fellow ‘grown up’ Paul W Downs. It’s a motley crew, including lesbian activist Frankie (Ilana Glazer), Blair (Zoe Kravitz) who is going through a messy divorce, and needy narcissist Alice (Jillian Bell). Kate McKinnon’s Aussie accented wild card, Pippa, also joins their boozy antics. A male stripper is naturally booked but an overexcited accident leaves him dead and the ladies have to dispose of the body. What follows is a sporadically amusing riff on The Hangover/Bridesmaids/Weekend at Bernies with a very heavy nod to 90s film Very Bad Things which had a male stag go wrong with uncomfortable results. This is played for aggressive laughs however and is a mostly diverting blast of girls behaving badly with Johansson and Bell shining amidst the mayhem.
