Cardiff residents are being urged to get online by Nominet Trust in response to new statistics which show that, of the 34% people in the area who do not use the internet, 80% feel they are better off without it. Our Digital Planet: The power of the internet in pictures is an exhibition which is coming to St Mary Street, Cardiff, from Wed 26 Sept-Mon 15 Oct, showcasing 24 thought-provoking insights and images to demonstrate the internet’s power to change our lives for the better. Their aim is to dispel some of the negative myths and misconceptions of the internet, offering visitors of all ages who have never used the internet before, or those who are not so confident, the opportunity to get online with guided support from organizations such as UK Online Centres and BeatBullying. As well as providing internet stations, the on-street gallery also offers a variety of other activities and workshops designed to help people explore the internet with fun and confidence.
