Last year’s Isle of Fire was a huge success. So successful in fact, that they’ve decided to set fire to Barry Island on fire again. Instead of the tranquil, green gardens of the Island Gardens, there will be beautiful, fiery landscape for audiences to get swept away in. Not literally, that would be terrifying. If you decide to come down, you’ll be invited to spend time among fire-breathing copper flowers, scorching sculptural trees and glowing floral chimneys. The weekend long event, organised by the Vale of Glamorgan Council, has previously featured shows like Shadowplay, an enchanting and intimate 30-minute show using silhouette animation, and the Fiery Arch of Passion, in which you had to walk through an archway of fire-breathing flowers. If you’ve got no plans for that weekend, and don’t mind the (hopefully) hot weather with a bit more heat, head to Barry Island.
