Rhigol Outdoor Backyard Party @ The Last Resort, Swansea
Sat 13 May
Ah, May in Swansea. The air’s getting warmer, the days are longer, the smoke of disposable barbeques begins to waft in from the beach. Braver souls might steel themselves for an icy dip in Bracelet Bay, while queues of weekenders snake outside Joe’s ice cream parlour, licking their chops at the prospect of a cone. If that’s not a tantalising enough prospect, how about the idea of a juicy outdoor rave-up?
Rhigol are purveyors of house, disco and garage sounds and been bringing good times aplenty to venues like the Monkey Bar and the Lemon Factory since launching in 2015. This year they’re throwing a big day-to-night party in the 300-capacity outdoor space of High Street newcomer The Last Resort, already famed for the quality of its food and booze. So, you can rock up safe in the knowledge that what you’re drinking will match the music and that if all that dancing works up an appetite you can order something suitably bolstering (our interest has been firmly piqued by the wings) to help you power on through.
The Rhigol crew will be welcoming down kindred spirits from Leicester, The Groove Stage, to head up proceedings, with support coming from residents Richie Curran, Kye and Jamie Richards. While the weather certainly isn’t guaranteed, you can count on vibes aplenty. Best pack the Factor 30, as well as an umbrella.
Tickets: £7.50. Info: www.lastresortswansea.com
