GREEN MAN FESTIVAL DIRECTOR WINS AWARD | NEWS
Fiona Stewart, the owner and Director of Green Man Festival, is to be presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Festivals Award at this years’ annual UK Festival Awards.
For more than 25 years Fiona has been working in events and entertainment. She is also a member of the Welsh Assembly Creative Industries Advisory Board and, for the Cultural Olympiad 2012, and produced the Welsh contemporary music program.
The Green Man Festival, itself as award winning event, incorporates into its four day schedule all manner of entertainments including literature, comedy, art, science and music, set against the backdrop of the Black Mountains.
Fiona has been congratulated on her achievement with the First Minister of Wales, Carwyn Jones saying:
“I am pleased to congratulate Fiona on this well-deserved honour. Despite her busy schedule Fiona has worked closely with the Welsh Government over the last three years as part of the Creative Industries sector panel, for which she has our thanks. […] Fiona is to be congratulated for the way she has led the development of Green Man as a thought-provoking and original brand.”
Ruth Mackenzie CBE, former Director of the London Cultural Olympiad 2012 Festival, currently Artistic Director Designate Holland Festival said:
