- Lee Skeet’s kitchen takeover at Brewdog Cardiff – Sun 22 Jan
As the former Head Chef of Michelin starred Hedone Restaurant, Lee Skeet has built a reputation for sourcing exceptional produce with an emphasis on seafood – even going as far as sourcing different species from different areas in Cornwall. This is the second time that Brewdog Cardiff and the chef have collaborated, and this time around, guests will be served a five course tasting menu focussing on clarity of flavour, simplicity, and interesting pairings. The menu will feature Cornish crab, mackerel, oysters, beef and duck as well as stunning scallops delivered still alive from Scotland. Tickets are priced at £40pp, available from www.leeskeet.com.
- Bottomless bubbly brunch at Grey (The Hilton) – every weekend
Not strictly a pop-up or an event, but relatively new to the Cardiff foodie scene, is the Hilton’s new restaurant and bar, Grey, and it’s ‘bottomless Prosecco brunch’. Priced at £25 for two courses and unlimited Prosecco for 90 minutes, hungry diners can choose from a selection of eggy delights and guilty pleasures every Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 3pm. Highlights include Welsh rarebit with grilled streaky bacon and poached free-range eggs, and a Cerfn Mawr Farm beef burger in a toasted brioche with smoked chilli jam.
