The 10-time Grammy winner Chaka Khan is touring next month and will be coming to Cardiff with a bang. As an artist who climbed the ladder to success in the 1970s as the frontwoman of funk band Rufus, she’s still going strong and continues to put on a great show. On Wed 7 June she’ll be playing at the Motorpoint, presenting hits from her 22 albums, a number paralleled by her impressive 22 Grammy nominations.

The Scottish indie rock band The View is coming to the Tramshed in Cardiff on Fri 12 May promoting the 10th anniversary of their debut album Hats Off To The Buskers. The band scaled the UK singles charts with Same Jeans in 2007, and still enjoy a large fanbase in Scotland and cult success abroad. Let’s hope they’re not still wearing the same jeans.

A witch-hunt with questionable motivations in a small American town where everyone forgets their sense of community and instead drown in a sea of hysteria and accusation. Starring Charlie Condou and Victoria Yeates, Cardiff’s New Theatre presents a demonically good version of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible from Tues 23-Sat 27 May.

As part of her I Was A Teenage Christian tour, comedian and writer Katy Brand will be stopping off in Swansea on Sat 6 May talking about her teenage experiences in a Mortified-esque show. With her trademark wit and shocking honesty, Brand talks about becoming a Christian fundamentalist at the age of 13 and her experiences thereafter.
TWO TICKETS TO IMELDA MAY AT ST DAVID’S HALL
For the first time in three years, Imelda May is going on tour, this time promoting her new album Life Love Flesh and Blood, which was released in the beginning of this year. With her irresistible showmanship, she explores a wide range of genres from rockabilly, folk, soul and blues. The Irish artist will be stopping off at St David’s Hall on Fri 5 May, with support from special guests.
