My Wild Garden – Mon 7 – Sun 20 August
Now in its final week, this pop-up Wildlife Garden will inspire and teach you to make your very own wildlife-friendly garden. Funded by the participants of the People’s Postcode Lottery, the pop-up can be found next to the Education Centre in Bute Park from 10:30 – 18:00.

Fish Cake – Tues 15 August
Hosted by Fran Vaz and Sapphira Hill, this event showcases artwork of a 2D and 3D nature from Cardiff-based up and coming artists. Taking place at Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre, the work is available to buy and there is also a raffle.

Terry Pratchett’s GUARDS! GUARDS! – Wed 16 – Sat 19 July
Based on the eighth Discworld novel by Terry Pratchett, watch as the citizens of the fantastical world of Ankh-Morpork sacrifice all morals for power. Showcasing at The Gate theatre, all proceeds will be donated to Ty Hapus Alzheimer’s charity.

Starring X Factor Chicago winner Brenda Edwards and The Ladykiller’s Matt Rixon, the hit musical comes to Cardiff, featuring the cheesy songs, the 60s style and, of course, lots of hairspray.

The annual festival returns for another year with a diverse range of genres (despite its name). This weekend features music from Monsters of Roc, Craig Charles and The Magic of Motown right within the walls of the historical castle.

Go Dad Run – Sun 20 August
Registration for this event opens at nine on the day at the Event Hub and closes 10 minutes before each race begins. The aim is to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK, Bowel Cancer UK, Orchid, CALM or Tenovus Cancer Care and get men talking about their health.
