MARTIN BARRE | PREVIEW
Legendary classic rock guitarist Martin Barre is stopping off in Cardiff on his UK tour, that’s good isn’t it? Barre, formally of the recently disbanded rock outfit Jethro Tull, will be playing The Globe next week! Martin will be performing a mix of his solo material and some Jethro Tull favourites, as reflected in his latest album which is a studio version of the show. Order of Play is Martin’s 6th solo studio album and is fresh off release after coming out on the 29th of September. These are some of the titles of songs: Fatman, Thick as a Brick (excerpt) and Locomotive Breath – now, are you not intrigued?
Everyone loves Martin. Martin has sold 60 million albums with Jethro Tull. And Martin has worked with Paul McCartney. Phil Collins, too. The guy is a super respected and influential guitarist, who has shared a stage with Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. He’s sharing the stage with a great band nowadays too and they played on his album with him. He’s got Dan Crisp on vocals, acoustic guitar and bouzouki, George Lindsay on the drums, Richard Beesley on saxophone and clarinet (he’s worked with Michael Buble, Mark Ronson, the Funk Brothers and The Supremes among others), Alan Thomson on bass (he’s also an accomplished song writer, with credits including Robert Palmer, Rick Wakeman, and Bo Diddley) – and you can see them all!
When a show has fans demanding a live album, it must be good and The Martin Barre Band were more than happy to oblige. Don’t miss it.
